R5-D4 Bad Motivator
#1
Here is a short clip of my ops check of the bad motivator smoke machine.  It uses a 5v Arduino-controlled relay to trigger the mini air pump and power to the .15 Ohm heating coil of the vape cartridge.  I used just pure vegetable glycerin in the cartridge.  My biggest concern is the amp that heater draws.  I only run it for three seconds.  The online Ohms Law calculator says that it will draw a massive 33 Amps (eek).  As you may be able to see in the video, I put a 30 Amp fuse in the circuit and it did not blow.

When I put my meter on the coil it measure .7 Ohms.  So maybe the .15 is only when it is hot.  Can anyone who know how this stuff works comment?

Did you look into a train smoke generator I am sure it would draw less than 1 amp.

No, I had not thought of that.  I'll do some research.  In the meantime, I have a 30A relay coming in the mail.
