Dome
#11
So the done is finally complete with wiring I still have to put the two rings on it but have not put them on until I figure the lazy susan out with holes and spacing.
Here are some pics.
I did have to do some cutting and trimming to get it to all fit.
Sorry about the messy wiring lol

So finally I have put the rings on the dome and the lazysusan onto the body.

Here is the body , I have test fit the dome but wont completely put it on until the rest is done as access is much easier with it off.

Did you rub-n-buff the front vents too? I like the finish on those.

No just painted metallic silver.

I only did the dome at this stage , I may go back and do other bits but it will be at the end of the build as I have a far few minor bits to fix. Ie The silver ring on the dome.

Its a long weekend here so hopefully I will get a lot done. I am waiting for some bearings and magnets to finish so hopefully they will be here soon.

Looking spectacular! Haven't had the time to print much lately, though I just got in some more filament this week, so maybe I'll have some time to print soon. Look forward to seeing how the upper and lower rings and gear rings all go together with the Lazy Susan in your build log, as the instructions are a little vague for me on how they all fit together with one another.

I've just started printing/putting together my R2 with Mr Baddelley's design (love it).
Firstly, you can get Rub'n Buff from Spotlight stores in Australia (at least I managed to find some). I think it's about $14 but it has lasted me two or three passes on my dome so far (only because I'm still not happy with how smooth the dome is... so I keep taking it back and reapplying).

Secondly and this may be answered elsewhere (I am currently searching which is how I found this thread) am I correct that we are supposed to print three sets of the holoprojector pieces? The instructions aren't super clear as to how all the little bits are done for the dome... though I'm assuming most will more or less only go where they fit.
Currently I've printed on of each of the stl's in the Greebles Holoprojectors directory... but I'm thinking I need to print 3?

Thanks for any help.
